What is Checkr?
Checkr is a verified & trusted background check provider for employment screening. The platform allows businesses to run various types of background checks on individuals, such as criminal history checks, credential checks, and employment verification.
Why do we use Checkr?
Checkr’s background check process helps to ensure that potential users meet the necessary childcare criteria. Checkr specifically focuses on 1099 employment screening and has robust experience and technology for these screenings. Sachi does not hire any educators directly, and therefore all care providers on our platform are independent contractors.
What does Checkr look for?
Sachi uses Checkr for several verifications and background checks. Sachi educators voluntarily opt in to:
- County Criminal Search (Last 7 Years)
- National Criminal Search (Standard)
- Professional License
- Verification (Prek Permit or K-12 Teaching License)
- Sex Offender Search
- SSN Trace
- Global Watchlist Search
- (OPTIONAL) Motor Vehicle Report
If educators are planning to drive children at any point during care sessions, whether they own their vehicle or not, they are required to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
How does the Checkr process work?
Upon profile completion on Sachi, an email from Checkr will be sent with a link to complete the background check. Checkr is a secure and safe platform, no information provided to Checkr will be shared back to Sachi’s platform. Once a Checkr background check has been processed and cleared, educators will receive a check on their profile indicating that they have passed the background check process and are ready to care for children.
